Masuria is called the Land of a Thousand Lakes for a reason – anyone who has visited this region even once can certainly confirm it.
Practically every city, town and village has its own access to a body of water.
During the summer, both public and wild beaches are packed with people seeking to cool off. The cheerful shouts of children
and the splashing of water are the bane of every fisherman angling nearby. Now at least you know why anglers get up so early in the morning.
A healthy mind in a healthy body!
Let us note for a moment that even a lazy day at the beach involves some form of activity. Let the first person who has never been tempted
to take a dip in the cool water after sunbathing cast the first stone. Beach volleyball,
played for a wager but more often just for fun, not only gives us a healthy dose of exercise but also brings new
friendships. This innocent sport not only unites but also divides (just kidding) – but admit it, who is happy paying
for ice cream for the umpteenth time in a row? But all is not lost – you can always get your revenge with a pedal boat race! Not
only will you avoid emptying your wallet yet again, but you will also strengthen your leg muscles! The best place for this
kind of fun is the Giżycko pier!
In the footsteps of pirates! on Masuria
Who did not dream as a child of joining the crew of Sinbad or Captain Jack Sparrow? These two iconic characters,
who entertained us while being the terror of the seas that every sailor feared, awakened in us curiosity,
the desire to find lost treasure and the urge to experience equally exciting adventures. Although most of us
left that dream behind in childhood, now you have the chance to step back in time and revisit it. Masuria, famous for
Poland’s largest lakes, opens up the opportunity to take a sailing course, while for the youngest
there are sailing camps! The most popular sailing schools are Róża Wiatrów, which organises camps for ages 13 to
18, and GERTIS for children, teenagers and adults. So let us pause here for a moment and get that sailing license!
Relaxation and Fun – Czarter Mazury
Seize the moment and set sail!
Now that you can legally set out on the water, let us begin a real journey across the Masurian lakes. But first, head to the charter company of your choice to rent a yacht, motorboat or even a jet ski.
Highly recommended are charter companies on Masuria that appear on Google Business, or sailors who frequently visit our Masurian lakes and already have their trusted charter operators. The sailing
industry on Masuria continues to thrive. Sailing clubs, yacht rental companies, sports centres and tourist sailing bases grow in number every year.
So do not rush your first choice – the key is finding an offer that suits you. However, what will surprise you
on the water is strangers shouting “ahoy” to each other as a greeting, and the selfless
help people offer one another. Here, even competing charter operators work together, because as they like to say, “Water is
life! You don’t mess around with it!”
Choose a yacht charter on Masuria – sailing yachts or motorboats (also available without a license) from our company Czarter Mazury. We offer yachts from 26 to 40 feet for charter, including the Twister 26, Maxus 28, Tes 32 Dreamer, Antila 33, Antila 33.3, Maxus 33, Nautika 1000, Nautiner 38, Nautiner 40, Futura 36, Futura 40, Stillo 30 and our largest sailing yacht, the Twister 36.
Those who watched carefully know that Sparrow was not only a brilliant captain, but his unconventional nature allowed him to
brilliantly escape trouble on land. You can try just as well to see if you can match his extreme
feats. The Wiewióra rope park, hidden among the trees, will help you do just that. Located in the western part of
Giżycko, on a narrow isthmus between two large Masurian lakes – Kisajno and Niegocin – it offers a
chance to feel like our captain searching for the Fountain of Youth on an island. There you will find 5 different courses, 70 obstacles,
10 zip lines including 4 over the lake, ranging from 3 to 12 metres above the ground. The attractions are divided by age group,
so instead of telling yourself you are too old, embrace the adventure! The park is also adapted for the
youngest visitors, so do not hesitate to bring your little ones along. I guarantee you will have
unforgettable moments, and the magic of this charming place will draw you back again.
Even a pirate has to eat!
In adventure or action films, the main character’s meals are rarely shown – usually just
quick snacks and soft drinks. Only in scenes important for the atmosphere and setting do we get to see
any proper dishes on the table, such as when Sparrow met Barbossa in the palace of Prince George Augustus,
ruler of England at the time. Although pirates customarily eat on their ship, they quite willingly come ashore to
visit local taverns, where they feast and drink to the rhythm of music. Of course, you do not have to
get drunk alongside them – just visit the local Masurian taverns or at least the fish fry shops to
sample the local cuisine. In Giżycko, Ekomarina comes highly recommended – it always offers fresh seasonal vegetables
and fruits on the plate. In Wilkasy, the Dezeta Tavern has a local fish soup on its menu that you will
fall in love with. Those who dock at the Stranda Marina in Giżycko will have the chance to use the safe
fire pit there and prepare a delicious, juicy grilled pork neck themselves. Only after a meal worthy of a pirate can we give
ourselves over to fun with local sea shanty bands until dawn! So, ahoy shipmates! See you on the
Masurian waters, you landlubbers!
